Gulf Coast Discount Medical Plan members save up to 50% or more on lab tests, x-rays, CT & MRI scans, mammograms and other medical imaging services. Discounts offered by each provider are listed on the Provider page. A sample of available benefits follows.

Primary Care (Internal Medicine, Family Practice & Pediatrics)

Do you need a check-up? Do your children need immunizations or a physical for school? Have you been avoiding doctors due to cost or inconvenient appointment times? If your answer is yes, the Gulf Coast Discount Medical Plan can help. Many of our participating primary care providers offer their services for a flat rate of only $35 per visit, immunizations and lab tests included. Others offer 30% to 40% discounts. Weekend and evening hours are available and some doctors welcome walk-in patients.

Infectious Disease

Our Infectious Disease providers offer savings of 40% off visits for Gulf Coast DMP members. The treatment facility offers not only primary health care, medication assistance programs, social services and case management, but also offers free confidential HIV testing and counseling.

OB/GYN

Our OB/GYN physicians offer total obstetric and gynecological care for women. Services include, but are not limited to, newborn delivery, infertility treatment, fetal monitoring and menopause management. Members are eligible for savings of 40%. In lieu of a percentage discount, a low flat rate of $865 is offered for a vaginal or cesarean section delivery only, including postpartum care. Routine office visits during pregnancy are available for an additional payment of $60 per visit.

Specialty Services

Savings of up to 40% or more are available to members who choose a participating specialist. With these savings our members can see an orthopedist and have a set of x-rays taken for $120 to $160. Dental

Start saving today! Visit a participating dentist, and receive discounts of 20% on preventive care including dental cleanings, restorations (fillings) and other routine dental services including root canal (endodontic) treatments. Our participating orthodontists and periodontists also offer 20% discounts to plan members. Brighten your smile with a cleaning. Payments are as low as $56.80 for adults and $34.40 for children at some participating dental offices.

Chiropractic

Our highly skilled chiropractic doctors are offering discounts of 40% off chiropractic care. Manipulation and specific adjustment of body structures is used for pain management and health restoration and maintenance. New patient visits are available for a payment of $54. Established patients may pay as little as $36 for a visit.

Nutrition Counseling and Education

Lose weight, reduce your cholesterol level, improve your health. Schedule an appointment with a participating dietician and create a nutrition plan tailored to meet your specific needs and lifestyle. The information you need may be obtained during a single visit lasting more than an hour. For this highly informative initial visit you will likely pay $105. Followup visits can be obtained for as little as $55 per visit.

Podiatry

You can take advantage of tremendous savings of 40% on Podiatry services. Unna Boots, Rigid Total Contact Casts and X-Rays taken in the office are not included.

Vision

See clearly and save 40% on routine eye exams and 25% on lenses and frames at participating locations. An eye exam with refraction is available from some participating optometrists for a payment of only $68.40.

Pharmacy

Save on average 38% on prescription medications at more than 59,000 pharmacies nationwide. When you join the Gulf Coast Discount Medical Plan we will send you a GCDMP Rx Discount Card. All chain store and most independent pharmacies participate. Discounts are available on brand, generic and even pet prescriptions.

For even greater savings fill your prescriptions at a Manatee County Rural Health Services (MCRHS), pharmacy and save up to 50% or more. To qualify for these savings you must be an MCRHS patient. Prescriptions written by specialists to whom MCRHS patients have been referred are also eligible for these savings. If you would like to know how much you can save please contact us. Ancillary Services

Save up to 50% or more on x-rays, CT and MRI scans, mammograms and other medical imaging services. For example, mammograms are available for a payment of only $66. Chest and extremity x-rays are available for less than $45. Savings of 40% or more are also available on physical and occupational therapy services. Some participating providers offer physical therapy services for a payment of only $50 per treatment.
